Electro Acuscope

What is it?

The Electro-Acuscope is totally different form of electrical stimulation than most people are used to. The Electro-Acuscope doesn't just stimulate the muscle to twitch, rather it facilitates tissue self-repair and promotes cell regeneration at an accelerated rate using microcurrent technology. The Acuscope is able to mimic the electrical conductivity of your muscles and nerve fibers, unlike other machines, which in turn allows it to normalize the proper electrical channels. This will cause an ATP production of the muscles cells by up to 400% which will increase healing times of conditions faster than other therapies.

Who uses the Electro-Acuscope?

The Acuscope is currently being used by professional athletic teams, sports medicine practices, hospitals, and by thousands of private physicians and therapist in every field of medicine throughout the world. According to widespread publicity, many outstanding athletes have been significantly helped by Electro-Acuscope treatments; several who have received Acuscope treatment for pain and injury, won gold medals in the Olympic Games.

How does it work?

The way it works is unlike ordinary TENS units which are only used to block pain signals from reaching and registering in the brain. The Electro-Acuscope generates a micro current to gently encourage nerve fiber to return to the conduction of normal, healthy electrical impulses. This electrical level causes cells of the body to "wake up" increasing the production of the chemical ATP which is responsible for cellular energy production and increases tissue function and healing.

How long does the treatment take?

Each treatment will take from 10-15 minutes, depending on the extent of the problem(s) and the number of treatment you have already had. For example, it takes longer to treat the shoulders, neck, and back, than simply to treat a simple wrist, foot, or ankle. Since the results are cumulative, each additional Acuscope treatment generally takes less and less time.

Will it hurt?

Sometimes you may feel a slight tingling during the actual treatment itself. However, most patients will feel soreness of the treated areas for 24-48 hours after the treatment with occasional leave small bruising of the treated area.

What should I avoid or do in between treatments?

You should avoid immersion of the treated area in a pool, bath or spa [showering is okay] during the initial treatment sessions. Also avoid activity that stresses the treated area. Increase fluid, vitamin and electrolyte intake.

Why are the results from an Acuscope treatment cumulative?

By the definition, the cumulative effect means that each treatment of a given area will take a shorter amount of time and the pain relief will last longer and longer. Unlike other forms of pain relief, such as therapy with certain drugs, the body does not build up a tolerance to Acuscope treatments. In fact, just the opposite effect occurs. Mild electrical stimulation has been proven [Cheng, 1982] to stimulate the cells of the body to produce chemicals, which are responsible for cellular energy production and may be thought of as the fuel, which allows the cells to begin to repair themselves. As these chemical reactions build up, the body’s response to each treatment becomes stronger and stronger and the pain relief lasts longer.

With each treatment, the tissues are able to repair themselves more completely. In most cases, a series of treatments leads to permanent relief or to a greatly diminished level of pain.
